Marathon Training Plan

Sunday Group run breakdown

June till October -
Fall Marathon Season - The Group runs are structured around Marathon and Half Marathon training. We follow Hal-Higdon's Novice Marathon training program for Full and Half marathon distances. Routes and Maps are provided weekly and each member takes their turn to help set out water stops.

October till December
Destination Fun Runs - Once the marathons are over, we seek out unique places to get in a 6 to 8 mile run. Suggestions are accepted to explore a new course, or master an old one. Some runs include trail runs or existing road runs.

December till March Madness -
March Madness Fever - Starting in December, we run the March Madness course. Members choose distances from 6 to 13.1 miles (or more) with each member taking a turn to drop a water stop. Some use this course for their spring Marathon training.

Mid March till June -
Spring Fun Runs - Several members are still preparing for a Spring Marathon, others just come out for fun. Weekly runs in Cary or Crystal Lake (or Another destination suggestion), distances vary.
